What services
does Veterans Services Commission provide?
Emergency Relief Division:
The Emergency Relief Division of Veterans Service Commission provides Basic Living Needs to eligible veterans, spouses, surviving spouses and minor children on Short-Term Emergency Relief Basis. The assistance provided include:
· Rent/Utilities/Food/Gasoline
Services Officers:
An accredited service officer is available to provide information about all county, state, and federal benefits to which a veteran and his/her eligible dependents are entitled. This service officer is responsible for filing for every benefit. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Filing claims from the Department of Veteran Affairs
· Providing Emergency Financial Assistance
· Burial Benefits
· Nursing Home and Assisted Living Claims
· House Calls
· Transportation to VA Medical Centers (Toledo, Ft. Wayne, Marion, Ann Arbor)
